FLUX Live host and media personality Jeremiah Stroup headed backstage at VAREKAI by Cirque du Soleil Wednesday of this week before attending the premier performance that night.

This event hosted at the Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum May 6th-10th 2015 features the high flying acrobatics, quirky humor, and moving music typical of most Cirque shows but unlike many of their themed shows this one holds more to a storyline based on the tale of Icarus who as the myth goes flew to close to the sun only to melt his wings and then fall to his demise. In this version our hero has a happier ending landing broken and battered on the mystical forest floor but very  much alive. He encounters a world full of magical creatures where he finds strength and even love.

“Meeting leading performing Fernando Miro who play “Icarus”was a lot of fun. He joined the show just a few months ago and was previously based in LA. I could tell he was grateful for the opportunity to play a leading role and has a lot of passion for his work,”

shared Jeremiah about his backstage encounter.  Jeremiah also talked with the Artistic Director Fabrice Lemire and Publicist Vanessa Napoli for insights into the refreshed and revamped arena-sized version of the show. “Portland loved the show, the applause were enthusiastic during the premier and everyone left with a smile. It’s well worth seeing this dynamic touring show,” quipped Jeremiah.
